In the spring of 1993, father, Andrew Wiebe and sons, John Wiebe and Jake Wiebe started a truss company locally owned and operated called Northern Truss. The business started small on a lot in the La Crete community, building trusses out in the open. They quickly further established themselves, buying a shop in town in 1994. They started building truss on a wooden table using an old Metra-Cut radial arm saw.

As the years went Northern Truss upgraded to a steel table and operated their first computerized saw in 2000. In the summer of 2012 the company made some major expansions with a new 10,000 square foot building and the latest Alpine ALS fully automated saw and the auto set C automated jigging gantry table.
